The Financial Services Authority (“FSA”) is a governmental statutory body established pursuant to the Financial Services Authority Act, No. 33 of 2011, as a single regulatory body to regulate the international financial services and the non-bank financial services sectors in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
The FSA invites applications from suitable applicants to fill the position of ACCOUNTS OFFICER – FINANCE & ADMINISTRATION DEPARTMENT
Duties and Responsibilities
The main responsibilities of the position are:
- The timely and accurate processing of accounting transactions and information.
- Collecting, sorting, and processing accounting documents and information such as journals, payroll documents, statistical data, invoices, etc. on a daily basis.
- The entry and processing of accounting transactions in the accounting system on a daily basis.
- Maintaining and updating the Fixed Asset Register on the accounting system in accordance with the Authority’s Fixed Asset Policy and ensuring the complete and accurate capitalization, valuation, depreciation, and labeling of all fixed assets received.
- Monthly analysis of General Ledger accounts and Trial Balance to ensure the complete and accurate accounting of all transactions in the accounts in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRSs) and the preparation of General Ledger/Audit Schedules.
- Assisting in the preparation of monthly/annual financial reports and statutory financial statements.
- Preparation of journals and adjusting transactions for entry into the accounting system.
- Preparation of monthly bank reconciliations and investigating, resolving, and journalizing all reconciling items/discrepancies.
- Assist in preparing annual draft estimates and budget.
- Assisting in coordinating the conduct of the annual external audit.
- Preparation of relevant audit schedules as required by the external auditors.
- Assisting the Finance Department, other departments, and the Manager as needed.
- Performing any other duties consistent with the position as may be assigned by the Executive Director, Deputy Executive Director, and the relevant line manager, from time to time.
Qualifications and Desirable Attributes
- Degree in Accounting or Finance or any other related field. Professional Accounting designation would be an asset.
- Two to three years of proven accounting/bookkeeping experience.
- Experience with QuickBooks.
- Knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices, laws, standards, and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRSs).
- Proficiency in spreadsheet analysis, database management, and Microsoft Office.

Compensation Package
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
