Overview

Saint Vincent and the Grenadines is located in the Eastern Caribbean with a population density of over 300 inhabitants/km2 (700 per sq mi) estimating to be a population of 110,872. Independence was attained in 1979 and the official language is English. The capital, Kingstown, is located on the main island St. Vincent.

St. Vincent and the Grenadines is made of a chain of 32 islands and Cays. There are nine inhabited islands in this chain including St. Vincent, Young Island, Bequia, Mustique, Canouan, Mayreau, Union Island, Palm Island and Petit St. Vincent.

The official currency of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines is the EC dollar (Eastern Caribbean currency).
